Job summary

Indra Group UK & Ireland is seeking a senior Technical Project Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of complex technology and managed services programs. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risk, dependencies, and stakeholder communications, and report to senior leadership through governance boards.

This role requires a proven track record in IT infrastructure and applications delivery, with strong ability to translate technical detail into business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' project management experience on complex technology or Managed Services programmes.

The Technical Project Manager will provide senior project management leadership across the technical and operational workstreams required to transition the NGT Solution into a fully operational Managed Service. The role will manage the end-to-end delivery journey from development and integration through SIT, UAT, Operational Readiness Testing (ORT), Pilot, Go-Live, Hypercare and transition to BAU/OPEX.

The role is responsible for bringing together the requirements, plans, milestones, dependencies and deliverables from each operational and technical workstream into a single integrated delivery plan, ensuring that the people, processes, technology, suppliers, documentation, training and support capabilities required to operate the service are delivered and ready at the appropriate stage.

This is not a hands-on technical engineering or architecture role. The successful candidate must instead combine strong senior Project Management capability with sufficient technical, service-management and Managed Services knowledge to understand how the end-to-end production service operates, challenge technical and operational workstream leads, identify gaps and dependencies and drive delivery to closure.

The role is client-facing and requires an individual who can manage expectations, communicate complex delivery issues clearly, provide confidence in the delivery position and present effectively at senior management, client governance and Board level.

This role requires a senior delivery leader rather than a project administrator or hands-on technical engineer. The successful candidate will project-manage the end-to-end journey into production, bring together the requirements and outputs from each workstream, challenge and elevate where required, and maintain a clear, credible delivery position for both internal leadership and the client.

The Technical Project Manager must understand the technical and operational content sufficiently to identify gaps, challenge assumptions and determine whether workstreams are genuinely on track and ready, without being responsible for performing the specialist technical work themselves.

• 7+ years' project management experience, including significant experience operating as a Senior Project Manager on complex technology, operational or Managed Services programmes.
• Strong Project Management capability; this role is not intended for a PMO coordinator or project administrator.
• Proven delivery experience across IT infrastructure, applications, integrations and operational service environments.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end production service operations, IT Service Management and Managed Services.
• Experience managing delivery across multiple technical and operational workstreams and senior subject-matter experts.
• Experience managing the transition of complex solutions from development through test, service transition, operational readiness, production deployment and BAU support.
• Strong client-management experience, including expectation management, negotiation of priorities and commitments, escalation management and maintaining confidence during challenging delivery periods.
• Demonstrable experience preparing and presenting complex programme information to senior executives, governance boards and client leadership teams.
• Ability to translate technical and operational detail into clear business-level messages covering impact, risk, options, recommendations and decisions required.
• Strong RAID, dependency, milestone, critical-path and resource management.
• Demonstrable experience recovering delayed or unclear workstreams and establishing delivery control.
• Experience coordinating third-party suppliers and internal delivery organisations.
• Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies and tools, including Microsoft Project.
• Recognised Project Management qualification such as PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent.

Highly Desirable Experience

• Public transport, ticketing, payments or other mission-critical / 24x7 operational environments.
• ServiceNow, Maximo or comparable ITSM / CMMS platforms.
• Cloud / AWS environments and complex systems integration.
