Job summary

September Consulting Ltd seeks a Technical Design Manager to lead a team of designers delivering technically excellent, compliant designs for complex commercial projects. You will produce and review detailed drawings and specifications, ensuring alignment with client requirements and building regulations.

The role offers a permanent, full-time position based in Dublin 4, with a focus on leadership, collaboration across departments, and continuous design quality improvements through digital tools.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and team management skills.

What will you be responsible for?

• Lead the technical design team in developing accurate, compliant architectural and product designs for complex projects.
• Produce, review and approve detailed technical drawings, specifications, and schedules ensuring they meet standards and client expectations.
• Support bids and tenders through site surveys and technical input, translating client and architect requirements into feasible design solutions.
• Maintain design quality by ensuring all work aligns with building regulations, safety standards, and project briefs.
• Collaborate with sales, project delivery, and suppliers to develop practical, innovative design solutions that drive efficiency and value.
• Drive process improvements by integrating digital design tools and refining workflows to increase productivity and accuracy.

What experience makes you eligible?

• Proven experience in technical design within specialist contracting, glazed partitions, glazed walls, and folding wall installations for commercial interiors, fit-out, or related sectors.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Experience producing and reviewing complex technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of building regulations, safety standards, and compliance.
• Ability to interpret client and architect requirements into feasible designs.
• Proficiency with digital design tools (e.g., CAD, Revit).
• Knowledge of project management software.
