Job summary

Accenture Ireland is seeking an experienced Technical Architect to lead end-to-end solution architecture across cloud, AI and enterprise platforms. You will translate business strategy into pragmatic designs and own architectural decisions across complex programmes.

You will mentor technical leads, drive governance forums and shape architecture blueprints while collaborating with delivery teams and partners to ensure alignment with strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent; significant experience in lieu will be considered.
• 5+ years in technical or solution architecture roles with end-to-end ownership on complex, multi-workstream programmes.
• Proven ability to lead architecture across modern engineering solutions with deep hands-on expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Strong knowledge of integration patterns, distributed system design, data architecture and security architecture principles.
• Experience operating in a client-facing advisory capacity — comfortable presenting to senior audiences.
• Demonstrated people leadership: mentoring team members, leading design reviews, and developing team capability.
• Active practitioner of AI-enabled development tooling — tangible impact on delivery velocity, quality or design quality.
• Familiar with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF) and modern delivery practices (DevOps, CI/CD, Agile/SAFe).

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for areas of architecture for complex, enterprise-scale programmes from target-state definition through transition architecture to delivery oversight.
• Define and drive architecture decisions (build/buy/reuse), articulating trade-offs, risks and dependencies clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
• Lead architecture design reviews and governance forums, ensuring standards are applied consistently across all workstreams.
• Produce and maintain architecture blueprints, reference architectures, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs).
• Determine approaches, methods and procedures on new assignments, making decisions that will be implemented by the team.
• Act as the primary technical interface for client stakeholders — translating business objectives into architecturally sound solutions.
• Facilitate architecture workshops, design sessions and executive briefings; build credibility with senior client and internal stakeholders.
• Support the technology strategy and roadmap for the engagement, coordinating with delivery leads and vendors to maintain alignment.
• Provide input into decisions on platform selection, integration patterns, cloud infrastructure and security architecture.
• Lead and mentor a team of technical leads and senior engineers; uphold engineering standards and architecture hygiene.
• Support delivery teams in translating architectural designs into implementable solutions; contribute to practice development across Accenture.

Are you an architect who leads from the front — shaping the technical direction of complex programmes, earning trust with clients, and building the capability of those around you? At Accenture, we're looking for experienced Technical Architects ready to owning end-to-end solution architecture across cloud, AI and enterprise platforms, and translating business strategy into pragmatic, delivery-ready designs.

This role carries real accountability — for the quality of the architecture, for alignment across engineering and delivery teams, and for the development of junior architects in your orbit. You'll work at the intersection of technology strategy and hands-on delivery, drawing on Accenture's global network, deep client relationships and technology partnerships to solve problems that genuinely matter.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor a team of technical leads and senior engineers — responsible for the quality of their outputs and their professional development.
• Provide technical conscience for the engagement: setting and upholding engineering standards, code quality, and architecture hygiene.
• Support delivery teams in translating architectural designs into implementable solutions, bridging the gap between intent and execution.
• Contribute to practice development: growing Accenture's architecture capability, supporting hiring, training and continuous development

What We're Looking For

Core Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent; significant experience in lieu of formal qualification will be considered.
• Solid commercial experience in technical or solution architecture roles, with a track record of end-to-end ownership on complex, multi-workstream programmes (typically 5+ years).
• Proven ability to lead architecture across modern engineering solutions — with deep hands-on expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Strong knowledge of integration patterns, distributed system design, data architecture and security architecture principles.
• Experience operating in a client-facing advisory capacity — comfortable presenting to senior audiences

Highly Desirable (at least one of):

• AI & Emerging Technology – experience in:
• Architecting and governing AI-enabled solutions, including LLM integrations, agentic workflows, GenAI-powered features and AI-assisted delivery practices.
• Embedding AI tooling (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) and AI-enabled CI/CD into the engineering practices of the teams you work with.
• Evaluating emerging technologies and bring forward considered recommendations on adoption, sequencing and risk.
• Contributing to Accenture's internal architecture community, sharing patterns, reference architectures and lessons learned across the practice.
• Mobile Architecture – experience in:
• Architecting and governing mobile applications across iOS and Android platforms, including native and cross-platform approaches.
• Defining mobile architecture patterns, design standards and technical documentation for delivery teams.
• Optimising mobile applications for performance, responsiveness and user experience, leveraging platform-specific capabilities.
• Integrating mobile solutions with back-end services, RESTful APIs and enterprise systems.
• Certifications:
• Cloud architecture certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect)
