Financial Services Tax Director – Aircraft Leasing

The Opportunity

A leading Big 4 firm in Dublin is continuing to grow its Financial Services Tax practice and is looking to appoint an experienced Tax Director into its specialist Aircraft Leasing and Finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior tax professional with strong aircraft leasing experience to take on a highly client-facing role, working with a quality portfolio of financial services clients across a broad range of advisory and consulting projects.

The role offers significant scope for career progression, leadership responsibility and involvement in the continued growth of a successful and expanding specialist tax team.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Tax Director, you will take responsibility for a portfolio of aircraft leasing clients while working closely with Partners and senior stakeholders across the wider tax practice.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality tax consulting and advisory services to a portfolio of aircraft leasing clients.
• Advising clients on cross-border aircraft leasing transactions and wider international tax considerations.
• Researching and presenting detailed technical tax advice across a range of complex advisory projects.
• Advising clients on their tax affairs and corresponding with Revenue where required.
• Managing client relationships and ensuring consistently high standards of service delivery across advisory and compliance workstreams.
• Working closely with Partners on project leadership and the smooth running of the wider department.
• Supporting the development of existing client relationships while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
• Playing an active role in proposals, business development and the continued growth of the practice.
• Leading, supervising and developing a team of trainees and senior tax professionals.
• Working closely with the Corporation Tax compliance delivery team where required.
• Taking responsibility for the quality of work delivered across your client portfolio while developing the wider team.

What They're Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• AITI or CTC qualification with strong post-qualification tax experience.
• Significant experience within Financial Services Tax, ideally with a particular focus on Aircraft Leasing.
• Previous Big 4 aircraft leasing tax experience.
• Strong technical knowledge across Corporate Tax and Capital Gains Tax.
• Experience advising on complex and/or cross-border transactions.
• Strong communication and relationship-management skills.
• The ability to operate effectively as part of a senior, collaborative team.
• A strong track record of delivering excellent client service.Commercial awareness and an interest in contributing to business development and practice growth.
• Proven experience managing, mentoring and developing junior tax professionals.
