Job description

We’re hiring: Talent & Capability Development Manager
Galway, Ireland / Birmingham, UK | Hybrid

If you believe that the strength of a business lies in the calibre of its people, this is a rare opportunity to own and build the talent strategies for a growing business.

At Coffey, we're building the talent, learning and capability mechanism that will enable the growth of a values-led project business into its next phase — and we're looking for a Talent & Capability Development Manager to shape and lead this key pillar of our strategy.

Reporting to the Director of People & Culture, this is a senior role focused on realising our talent strategy to enable our strategic growth. As an experienced Talent Leader you will be responsible for translating business priorities into scalable, sustainable people attraction and capability development strategies.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll lead how Coffey attracts, develops and retains capability across Ireland and the UK. That includes:

  • Leading end-to-end resourcing acquisition and development strategies across Ireland and the UK
  • Leading and developing the Talent Attraction team ensuring optimum talent resourcing strategies are identified and deployed
  • Building early-career and critical-talent pipelines that support growth plans
  • Designing talent development strategies that strengthen technical expertise, and people leadership capabilities
  • Own talent management strategies including talent reviews, targeted talent development activities and succession planning
  • Develop talent mastery capabilities in leaders
  • Partnering with senior leaders to identify capability gaps early and develop strategies to close
  • Partner with stakeholders on performance management and talent development strategies
  • Reinforce Coffey values and embed a culture of employee empowerment across all talent strategies
  • Using AI-enabled tools and workforce data to improve efficiency and employee experience
  • Partner with stakeholders on employer branding activities, positioning Coffey as an employer of choice
What we’re looking for

We’d love to hear from you if you bring:

  • A third-level qualification in Human Resources, Business, Learning & Development or a related discipline; master’s degree desirable
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in proactive HR environment at least 3 years in a leadership or management role leading talent agendas,
  • Proven capability designing development programmes that build pipelines for hard-to-fill technical roles
  • Experience leading talent review sessions, creating buy-in on action plans and supporting succession planning activities
  • Demonstrated experience enabling talent strategies to supporting significant organisational growth

At Coffey, our people are at the heart of everything we do. This role offers the chance to shape how a growing business finds, develops and keeps its best people — with real ownership and the scope to build something that lasts rather than maintain what already exists. In return, Coffey offers competitive pay in addition to an attractive benefits package.
