Job summary

Accountancy Solutions is supporting a Not for Profit organisation seeking a Finance Systems Specialist to bridge the gap between finance and IT, shaping the digital roadmap, optimising ERP performance, and leading improvements across a global finance function.

This hybrid role requires combining accounting expertise with IT savvy, driving system development, data quality, and controls, while partnering with internal IT teams and external providers to deliver value across multi-country finance

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA) or equivalent in finance systems.
• Experience administering, improving, or supporting a major ERP system (Unit4 desirable).
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• Experience with BI/reporting tools like Power BI, SQL or databases.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, optimisation, and integration of the core ERP system and supporting financial applications.
• Maintain relationships with internal enterprise IT teams and third-party providers to manage system developments.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance systems and workflows to reduce manual effort and improve data quality while maintaining internal controls.
• Manage the finance systems change pipeline from design to UAT and implementation.
• Support system upgrades and migrations and guide global users through process changes.
• Maintain chart of accounts and master data; build reports, dashboards, and analytics for budgeting, forecasting, and audit cycles.
• Act as the Data Protection Champion for the global finance function.
• Provide hands-on systems support during month-end/year-end and budgeting; create user guides and deliver training.

Our client, a prominent Not for Profit organisation, who are seeking a Finance Systems Specialist to bridge the gap between finance and IT. This pivotal role drives the digital roadmap, optimises global ERP performance, and leads continuous process improvements across a global finance function. Key Responsibilities

• Act as the lead finance systems specialist, blending accounting and technical expertise to drive the strategic digital roadmap for the global finance function. You will lead the development, optimisation, and integration of the core ERP system and supporting financial applications.
• Maintain strong working relationships with internal enterprise IT teams and third-party software providers to ensure swift issue resolution and proactive management of future system developments.
• Lead the continuous improvement of finance systems and workflows to reduce manual effort and improve data quality. You will design and embed practical system changes while maintaining strong internal controls (system access, workflows, segregation of duties).
• Manage the finance systems change pipeline from design and user acceptance testing (UAT) through to final implementation. You will support system upgrades and migrations, guiding global users through process changes with practical support.
• Maintain core financial data integrity (chart of accounts, master data) and resolve system discrepancies. You will build and improve reports, dashboards, and analytics to support budgeting, forecasting, and audit cycles.
• Act as the designated Data Protection Champion for the global finance function.
• Provide hands‑on systems support during critical cycles (month‑end, year‑end close, budgeting). You will build systems capability across multi‑country teams by creating clear user guides and delivering practical training.

Candidate Requirements:

• Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA) OR relevant in finance systems, financial reporting, or finance operations.
• Proven experience administering, improving, or supporting a major ERP system (experience with Unit4 is highly desirable).
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills. Familiarity with reporting and business intelligence tools like Power BI, SQL, or databases is an advantage.
• Experience supporting finance transformation, system implementations, or upgrades. Track record in process mapping coordinating stakeholders, and managing system testing/rollouts.
• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical/system issues into plain language for both finance and technical colleagues.
• Confident working across multi-location and multicultural teams.
• Background working in a not-for-profit, or grant-funded environment is highly beneficial.
