Job summary

Crewit Resourcing in Ireland is seeking a Setting Out Engineer (Topographer/Geomatic Engineer) for site-based work on commercial and civil projects nationwide. You will be responsible for accurate setting out, surveying, and supporting groundworks and external works on retail, warehouses, roads, and urban infrastructure.

You should have a degree in Geomatics or Civil Engineering and 2+ years of setting out experience, with proficiency in Total Station, GPS, and AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Geomatics, Surveying, or Civil Engineering.
• 2+ years of setting out or site engineering experience.
• Experience with Total Station and GPS equipment.
• Proficient in AutoCAD or Civil 3D.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out and site surveying using Total Station and GPS.
• Set out groundworks, roads, drainage, foundations, slabs, and external works.
• Perform volume calculations (cut & fill, earthworks).
• Work with AutoCAD / Civil 3D for drawings and terrain models.
• Produce and maintain as-built surveys and site records.
• Support site teams and subcontractors with technical setting out.
• Identify and resolve issues between drawings and site conditions.

We are hiring a Setting Out Engineer (Topographer / Geomatic Engineer) for a contractor delivering commercial and civil projects across Ireland.

Projects include retail (e.g. Lidl/Aldi), warehouses, residential, roads, car parks, and urban infrastructure, with a strong focus on groundworks and external works.
