Job summary

Enable Ireland is seeking a motivated Respite Support Worker to join CHO8 Children Services in County Meath. The role involves supporting children and young people with disabilities through a person-centred approach, providing afterschool and weekend respite, and working 23.4 hours per week on a fixed-term contract.

You will join a service committed to equality, diversity, and professional training, with opportunities for continued development and appropriate supervision within a supportive team

Qualifications

  • Formal qualification in Health Care including FETAC/QQI Level 5 NVQ /City and Guilds.
  • At least 1 year experience of working with children.
  • Experience of working in a disability service.
  • Full manual Driving license and access to own transport.
  • Must be eligible to work in the state.
  • Experience of working and engaging with children with disabilities.
  • Current Back Care & Patient Handling Training.
  • Experience of working in respite services

Responsibilities

  • To work as a member of the team providing respite services in County Meath.
  • To work with the children /young people through a person-centred approach to meet their identified needs while attending afterschool / weekend respite.

We are currently seeking a highly-motivated Respite Support Worker to join our team in CHO8 Children Services.

Contract Type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract

Contract Hours: 23.4 hours per week (0.60 WTE)

Salary Scale: €35,070 - €42,440 pro rata per annum. Salary scales are subject to LSI’s (Long Service Increments)

This pay scale is subject to increases in 2026 in accordance with the recent WRC agreement towards enhanced pay adjustments in Section 39 organisations.

Annual Leave Entitlement: 30 days pro rata per annum

The successful candidate will have
