Job summary

Corlann – West Region is recruiting permanent full-time Support Workers (Care Assistant grade) to join the CAISlean Adult Services in Oranmore & Galway City. The role focuses on supporting people with intellectual disabilities to live independently and participate in community life.

Reporting to Social Care Worker/Team Leader, the post requires English fluency, a driving licence, and a QQI Level 5 or equivalent. It offers a competitive Department of Health salary and pensionable terms.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in the field of intellectual disability or a FETAC level 5 course is an advantage.
• A QQI Level 5 or higher is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the person in all aspects of daily living, focusing on independence and development of skills.
• Assist with personal care, meals, household tasks and other aspects of physical well-being.
• Enable participation in ordinary life in the community through inclusive thinking.
• Work as part of a team and adapt to the needs of individuals and service requirements.
