Job summary

Stryker Ireland is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) on a fixed-term contract until December 2027. The role is hybrid with emphasis on supplier barcode readiness and MDR compliance.

You will lead supplier engagement, review PPAPs and change notifications, ensure barcode systems meet durability and traceability criteria, and coordinate NC resolution and risk documentation with ME/QE teams. Travel minimal.

Qualifications

• BSc / B.Eng in a science, engineering or related discipline preferred, or equivalent years of experience.
• 0+ years experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead supplier engagement related to barcode readiness, including kickoff meetings and implementation tracking.
• Review and approve supplier PPAPs, barcode validation evidence, and change notifications.
• Ensure supplier marking systems meet MDR durability and traceability criteria.
• Coordinate resolution of NCs, change control, and inventory disposition workflows.
• Collaborate closely with ME/QE teams to ensure supplier deliverables align with internal barcode standards and milestones.
• Maintain supplier audit trail and risk-based documentation for MDR compliance.

Collaborates With

• Manufacturing Engineering (ME) - to confirm technical specs and equipment/process readiness at suppliers
• Quality Engineering (QE) - for PPAP/FAI review, risk assessments, and issue escalation
• Regulatory Affairs - for MDR-related documentation checks and supplier traceability
• Supply Chain / Planning - for coordination on supplier schedules, PO releases, and material disposition
• Operations / Receiving Inspection - to confirm readiness to inspect and verify barcode compliance at incoming
• Project Management (PMO) - to align timelines, flag risks, and manage cross-functional handoffs
• IT / Supplier Portals - where applicable, for document submission or traceability in supplier systems
• Divisional SQ / Base Business Teams - for supplier escalation paths, audit preparation, and governance reviews

What you will need?

BSc / B. Eng. in a science, engineering or related discipline preferred, or equivalent years of experience. 0+ years experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent.

Preferred Experience

• MDR/UDI supplier implementation projects
• Interaction with base business and divisional purchasing/QA
• Barcode equipment readiness and supplier audits

Ireland: €40,000 - €67,000 EUR Annual

Work Flexibility Remote - Role allows you to work the majority to 100% of time from an alternate workplace. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based - You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite - Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid - You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
