Job summary

DBFL Consulting Engineers Ltd. is seeking a Structural Engineer to join its Cork team. The role involves working autonomously from design through site supervision, with a strong focus on compliance with Irish Building Regulations and Eurocodes.

You will engage with clients and collaborate across the design team. The successful candidate will have a Civil/Structural engineering degree, be chartered or near-chartered with 2–5 years' experience, and hold advanced AutoCAD skills.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate calculations.
• Excellent project management and client-facing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare preliminary scheme design options for discussion and approval.
• Produce structural design calculations and drawings to Eurocodes and Irish Building Regulations.
• Review drawings from other design team members and external consultants.
• Conduct site inspections including checking steel reinforcement prior to pours.
• Resolve on-site issues with safe, economical and viable design solutions.
• Liaise with clients, design teams and contractors and support team development.
• Perform other duties as required.
