Job summary

CS Consulting Group Civil & Structural Engineers in Dublin City Centre is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with 10+ years’ experience to lead the design and delivery of our structural services across a broad range of projects. This senior role includes progression towards Company Associate and team leadership responsibilities.

You will mentor junior engineers, engage with clients and directors, and ensure designs meet Eurocodes and best practice.

Qualifications

• Master's or honours degree (Level 8+) in Structural Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer (Engineers Ireland / IStructE) or close to achieving chartership.
• 10+ years experience as a structural engineer on development projects (residential high-rise/low-rise desirable).
• Experience with Eurocodes; UK/Europe experience preferred; Ireland experience beneficial.
• Strong technical and analytical skills with problem solving abilities.
• Site attendance and inspections experience per BCAR is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Lead delivering engineering services from feasibility to construction.
• Advise directors, colleagues and clients on engineering requirements and solutions.
• Manage client liaison, design meetings and coordination with contractors/sub-contractors.
• Oversee delivery of innovative structural designs and ensure compliance with eurocodes and standards.
• Prepare tender docs and technical reports coordinating the engineering team.
• Fulfil Ancillary Certifier role and conduct inspections where required.
• Supervise and mentor graduate and junior engineers.
• Collaborate with civil and structural teams on multidisciplinary projects.
• Contribute to development of Company procedures and drive quality standards.

Your mission

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with 10+ years’ experience to join our growing structural engineering team based in Dublin City Centre. The successful candidate will lead the design and delivery of our engineering services across a broad range of interesting public and private sector projects. This is a senior position with scope for progression to Company Associate for the right Candidate. This is a strategic hire, with a view to supporting team leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and shaping our growing structural engineering capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Project Lead for a broad range of projects, delivering engineering services from feasibility to construction.
• Engage with and advise directors, colleagues and clients on engineering requirements and solutions for developments;
• Manage client liaison, design team meetings, collaborate with contractors and sub-contractors, and manage stakeholder engagement.
• Oversee the delivery of innovative and practical structural designs solutions.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant eurocodes, standards and best practice.
• Prepare robust tender documentation, technical reports, etc. coordinating the internal team of engineers and technicians preparing the information.
• Fulfil the role of Ancillary Certifier on projects where required and carry out inspections.
• Supervise and mentor graduate and junior engineers.
• Collaborate with civil and structural teams on integrated multidisciplinary projects.
• Participate in the development of and improvement of Company procedures, policies and initiatives to drive high standards of quality.

Qualifications & Experience

• Masters or Honours Degree (Level 8+) in Structural Engineering;
• Chartered Engineer (Engineers Ireland / IStructE) or close to achieving chartership.
• 10+ years experience working as a structural engineer on a broad range of development projects (high-rise or low-rise residential experience desirable).
• Experience with Eurocodes, ideally with work experience in Ireland, the UK or Europe;
• Solid technical and analytical skills with demonstrable problem solving abilities;
• Experience attending site and carrying out inspections in accordance with BCAR is desirable;
