Job summary

F5 Networks, Inc. is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager for Network Planning and Acquisition to align sourcing strategy with our global infrastructure footprint.

You will secure data center capacity, fiber, and carrier services, engaging with stakeholders across Supply Chain, Network Engineering, Finance, and Legal. You will drive end-to-end sourcing, negotiate complex contracts, and optimize cost, performance, and growth as F5 expands its connectivity footprint globally.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, network procurement, or infrastructure acquisition.
• Hands-on experience with dark fiber IRUs, lit services, IP transit, and peering agreements at scale.
• Experience working with carriers, ISPs, and fiber providers across multiple markets.
• Ability to translate network expansion plans into actionable sourcing roadmaps and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies across dark fiber, wavelengths, carrier services, IP transit, peering, IX connectivity, and OSP services.
• Lead RFPs, negotiations, and contract awards with carriers, utilities, and fiber providers.
• Negotiate pricing, SLAs, build timelines, capacity rights, and renewal terms.
• Develop and implement peering strategies with IXPs and private peers to optimize cost and performance.
• Evaluate data center and colocation options to support connectivity needs and long-term economics.
• Manage supplier relationships and drive performance reviews with KPI-driven remediation.
• Collaborate with Network Engineering, Infrastructure Planning, and Legal to resolve issues quickly.
