Job summary

ID Recruitment are working with a renowned large car dealership group in Mayo to recruit a Financial Accountant. Based in Ballinrobe, Mayo, the role reports to the Financial Controller and oversees financial reporting and control.

You will maintain the general ledger, manage fixed assets, budgets, cash flow, and assist external audits in a fast-paced automotive retail environment. The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with 3+ years in a similar role and

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts with variance analysis.
• Ensure timely, accurate year-end financial statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and oversee reconciliations.
• Manage fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
• Assist budgeting process and produce forecasts with insights.
• Monitor cash flow and treasury activities; optimise working capital.
• Collaborate with auditors and ensure VAT, corporation tax compliance.
• Provide financial analysis to support business decisions.
