Arup is a global consultancy with advisory and technical expertise across more than 150 disciplines. We guide, plan and design the future of the built environment. Globally, each year we recruit hundreds of graduates and students who help us see things differently and solve the most complex challenges facing our clients, climate and communities.

The Opportunity

This role will be part of the Strategic Communications discipline, within the Strategy Consulting team. The team supports clients in navigating complex challenges, identifying opportunities, and executing sustainable transformational initiatives to achieve strategic communication and engagement objectives.

In this role, you will build experience in designing communication strategies, implementing and facilitating engagement programmes, and translating engagement insights into meaningful and impactful communications for stakeholders and clients. While the role centres on communications advisory and implementation, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across the wider Strategy Consulting team, gaining exposure to diverse projects and perspectives.

As a Strategic Communications Graduate in our team at Arup, you will:

  • Support the development and delivery of communication and engagement strategies.
  • Create clear, audience-focused content across digital and multimedia channels.
  • Plan and support delivery of consultations, workshops, campaigns and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Analyse engagement insights and help prepare reports, presentations and recommendations.
  • Coordinate project activities and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

For this opportunity, we are seeking the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

An undergraduate or bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in:

Marketing; Strategic Communications, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business, Commerce, Politics, Government, Public Policy, Sociology, Social Studies, Climate and Sustainability Science, Project and Programme Management, Change Management, Management, Management Consulting, Strategic Planning, or a related discipline.

Desired Technical Skills: Microsoft 365 applications (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Forms). Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Miro and Power BI (desired).

Desired Key Competencies: Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement and mapping, workshop facilitation, social media and digital communications, strategic thinking, strong organisational skills, contextual awareness and a naturally curious mindset.

To be considered for a graduate opportunity, your application must include a copy of your academic transcript and meet the following criteria:

  • Full working rights in the country of application
  • No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
  • Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts.

Alongside your degree, we look for the following core attributes;

  • Changemakers: A passion for sustainable development and creating a better world is key.
  • Innovative minds: We’re looking for critical thinkers who embrace new ideas and challenge the status quo.
  • Growth seekers: You have a growth mindset, always eager to learn and explore new ways of working.
  • Adaptable adventurers: You’re ready to take on any challenge that comes your way.

Closing Date: 12 November 2026

We're able to consider candidates who require an employment permit to work in Ireland, where the role and offered salary meet the Irish Government's eligibility criteria (for example, under the Critical Skills or General Employment Permit schemes). All Employment Permits are granted at the discretion of the Deciding Officer with offers contingent to obtaining the correct immigration to work and reside in Ireland.
