Job summary

Intersport Elverys is a recognised market leader in sports retail with a nationwide store network. We’re seeking a Store Manager to lead daily operations, drive sales, coach the store team and ensure outstanding customer service while upholding health, safety and security standards.

You will recruit and develop staff, manage budgets and visual merchandising, and collaborate with senior management to meet KPI targets across the store.

Qualifications

• 2/3 years retail management experience, depending on store grade.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, people management and leadership skills.
• Passionate about delivering excellent customer experience and understanding its impact on sales and bottom line.
• Experience in Visual Merchandising desirable.
• Proficient IT knowledge including Excel, Email, SAP.
• 3rd Level Business/Retail Management Qualification beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day store operations, sales, team management, customer experience, security, health & safety, stock and resources.
• Meet and exceed store targets and KPIs.
• Recruit, train, coach and manage team members in line with company policies.
• Manage cash, wage costs, budgets and systems as required (TMS, BC, etc).
• Drive Visual Merchandising to engage, inspire and educate customers.
• Ensure in-store services are well staffed and promoted (e.g. Safesize, Assisted Selling).
• Follow security guidelines to deter pilferage and protect stock; maintain store health & safety standards.
• Be the key holder and primary contact for alarm activation; provide cover for other stores.

Our Store Management teams are responsible for the overall operations and sales performance of our stores and ensuring that the right people and product are in place to achieve and exceed Company expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Every aspect of day-to-day operations in the store, including sales, team members, customer experience, security, health & safety, stock and resources management.
• Meet and exceed store targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Recruit, train, coach and manage team members in line with company policies, ensuring fairness and consistency to all.
• Manage all cash, wage costs, budgets and systems administration as required (TMS, BC, etc).
• Drive excellent Visual Merchandising in store to engage, inspire and educate the consumer.
• Ensure all in-store services are suitably manned and promoted, e.g. Safesize, Assisted Selling, etc.
• Be security conscious ensuring to follow company security guidelines aimed at deterring pilferage and protecting stock.
• Responsible for overall Health & Safety in store. Ensure all team members are fully trained and following company policies and procedures with regard to Health & Safety.
• Identify current and future customer requirements & develop additional non-direct business.
• Ensure successful implementation of projects in line with company expectations.
• Deliver excellent store standards consistently in line with business expectations.
• Key holder and main call out person in the event of alarm activation.
• Provide cover for other stores as required.
• Any other activities as required in order to ensure the successful operation of the store.

Qualifications, skills and experience:

• 2/3 years retail management experience (dependent on store grade).
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, people management and leadership skills.
• Passionate about the delivery of an excellent customer experience with an understanding of how this drives sales and affects the bottom line.
• Experience in Visual Merchandising desirable.
• Proficient IT knowledge including Excel, Email, SAP.
• 3rd Level Business/Retail Management Qualification beneficial but not essential.
