Job summary

Intersport Elverys in Galway seeks a Store Manager to lead daily operations and sales performance across a busy retail network. You will ensure the right people and products are in place to meet company expectations and drive excellent customer service.

The role requires 2/3 years of retail management, strong leadership and IT skills (Excel, SAP). It offers opportunities for development and benefits as part of a market-leading sports retailer.

Qualifications

• 2/3 years retail management experience
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, people management and leadership skills
• Passionate about the delivery of an excellent customer experience with an understanding of how this drives sales and affects the bottom line
• Experience in Visual Merchandising desirable
• Proficient IT knowledge including Excel, Email, SAP
• 3rd Level Business/Retail Management Qualification beneficial but not essential

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day store operations, including sales, team, customer experience, security, health & safety, stock and resources management
• Meet and exceed store targets and KPIs
• Recruit, train, coach and manage team members
• Manage cash, wage costs, budgets and systems administration
• Drive in-store Visual Merchandising to engage and educate customers
• Ensure in-store services are manned and promoted (e.g. Safesize, Assisted Selling)
• Maintain security and deter pilferage while protecting stock
• Oversee Health & Safety in store and ensure policies are followed
• Identify customer requirements and develop non-direct business
• Support project implementation in line with company expectations
• Deliver store standards in line with business goals
• Act as key holder for alarm activation and cover other stores as needed

Our Store Management teams are responsible for the overall operations and sales performance of our stores and ensuring that the right people and product are in place to achieve and exceed Company expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Every aspect of day-to-day operations in the store, including sales, team members, customer experience, security, health & safety, stock and resources management.
• Meet and exceed store targets and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Recruit, train, coach and manage team members in line with company policies, ensuring fairness and consistency to all.
• Manage all cash, wage costs, budgets and systems administration as required (TMS, BC, etc).
• Drive excellent Visual Merchandising in store to engage, inspire and educate the consumer.
• Ensure all in-store services are suitably manned and promoted, e.g. Safesize, Assisted Selling, etc.
• Be security conscious ensuring to follow company security guidelines aimed at deterring pilferage and protecting stock.
• Responsible for overall Health & Safety in store. Ensure all team members are fully trained and following company policies and procedures with regard to Health & Safety.
• Identify current and future customer requirements & develop additional non-direct business.
• Ensure successful implementation of projects in line with company expectations.
• Deliver excellent store standards consistently in line with business expectations.
• Key holder and main call out person in the event of alarm activation.
• Provide cover for other stores as required.
• Any other activities as required in order to ensure the successful operation of the store.
