Job summary

The role involves developing dashboards, implementing data ingestion pipelines, and creating comprehensive technical documentation for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric and modern data analytics.
• Proficient in writing complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
• Extensive experience with Power BI and Tableau for dashboards.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure SQL environments.
• Fluent use of Python and/or R for statistical analysis and modelling.

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Statistician / Data Analyst with strong hands‑on experience in Microsoft Fabric, SQL, Power BI/Tableau, Azure Data Factory, Python and R.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing complex datasets, developing advanced reporting and visualisations, supporting data ingestion and transformation, and delivering high-quality analytical solutions aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply advanced technical data analysis techniques to extract, manipulate, cleanse and analyse complex datasets.
• Write and optimise complex SQL queries, including the development of complex stored procedures.
• Work with Microsoft Fabric to support modern data analytics, reporting and data engineering requirements.
• Develop advanced data visualisations and dashboards using Power BI or Tableau.
• Produce business and technical reports using reporting tools such as SSRS.
• Apply descriptive and predictive analytics to support business decision-making.
• Use Python and/or R for statistical analysis, data modelling and analytical projects.
• Design and implement data ingestion pipelines using Azure Data Factory, including data transformations into Azure SQL environments.
• Work with large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and actionable insights.
• Prepare clear and comprehensive technical support documentation, explaining the approach taken for specific work items, reports and analytical solutions.
• Conduct walkthroughs of completed work with team members and relevant stakeholders.
• Manage multiple business priorities and work requests simultaneously, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
• Work closely with business and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business needs.
• Strong practical experience in data analysis / statistics within a technical environment.
• Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric.
• Advanced SQL skills, including:
• Complex query writing
• Data extraction and manipulation
• Data cleansing
• Query optimisation
• Complex stored procedures
• Strong practical experience with Power BI or Tableau and advanced data visualisation.
• Experience with SSRS or similar reporting tools.
• Project-based experience applying descriptive and predictive analytics.
• Strong programming experience in Python and/or R.
• Hands‑on experience with Azure Data Factory for data ingestion and transformation.
• Experience working with Azure SQL.
• Excellent documentation and technical communication skills.
