Job summary

Ripple is hiring a Staff Security Engineer to join the Security Operations team in Ireland. You will detect, investigate, and respond to threats across our environment, building tooling and detection logic while guiding less senior engineers.

This role emphasizes end-to-end ownership of incident response and detection projects. You will work with SIEM pipelines, EDR, and security automation tools, and will leverage AI-assisted coding for detection engineering, with a focus on scalable, secure

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in security operations, detection engineering, or incident response.
• Advanced knowledge of security principles, tools, and blue-teaming practices.
• Experience with SIEM platforms and security data pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with EDR, identity, email security, and network security tooling.
• Ability to write clean technical specs and manage complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and tune detections across our security stack to identify and mitigate threats.
• Lead incident response for high-severity investigations from triage to remediation.
• Build and maintain security automation workflows to reduce manual toil in detection, triage, and response.
• Own and improve SIEM/data pipeline health, including parsing and alert quality.
• Develop relationships to influence security initiatives and drive tooling adoption.
• Translate threat landscape awareness into concrete improvements to detection coverage and playbooks.
• Use AI tools appropriately, validating outputs before deployment.
• Participate in design reviews and break complex challenges into repeatable processes.
