Job summary

Horizons Cork is seeking Staff Nurses to join teams across Cork, supporting children and adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism. This role offers a 37.5 hour week with shift work including night duty, and the chance to contribute to person-centred care in a progressive environment.

Staff Nurse

The 13 point salary scale for the post as of 01/02/2026: €38,166, €40,158, €41,175, €42,519, €44,213, €45,907, €47,591, €49,049, €50,509, €51,973, €53,466, €54,956, €56,592 LSI

New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011). Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies.

Application Criteria

• Possess a relevant third level qualification in Nursing (level 8 degree), and be on the live register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
• Have update to date permissions to work and reside in Ireland at time of application.
• Have very good interpersonal skills and the flexibility to meet the changing needs of the people Horizons supports are essential requirements.
• A minimum of 1 experience working with people with people with an intellectual disabilities and/or autism is essential.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Have proficient IT Skills.
• Be flexible and a team player.
• A full clean driving license is desirable.
