Job summary

Cpl Group in Limerick is seeking a Staff Nurse to join its Intellectual Disability Services team. You will deliver person-centred nursing care, support individuals with intellectual disabilities, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to maintain high clinical standards and safety.

The role offers 30–35 hours per week on permanent or fixed-term contracts, a competitive salary (€35,261–€51,777) and a supportive environment focused on dignity and independence.

Qualifications

• Active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• RNID qualification or a minimum of one year's experience working within intellectual disability services.
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Strong understanding of person-centred care and disability services.
• Knowledge of HIQA standards and quality requirements within care services.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Strong clinical assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care tailored to individual needs.
• Develop, implement, and review care plans that promote choice, independence, and wellbeing.
• Provide clinical leadership and guidance to care staff and support teams.
• Support the delivery of safe and effective respite and residential services.
• Ensure compliance with HIQA regulations, organisational policies, and professional nursing standards.
• Administer and manage medications in line with best practice and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate clinical records, assessments, and care documentation.
• Participate in risk management, safeguarding, quality assurance, and clinical governance activities.
• Work collaboratively with families, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for service users.
