Responsibilities

• Ensure residents are treated with dignity, privacy and respect.
• Understand the Named Nurse concept, its function, and implementation and ensure documentation is maintained.
• Establish a personal and meaningful relationship with all residents, relatives and visitors, ensuring support and comfort.
• Maintain clear, concise, and accurate records within the home in accordance with legislation and standards.
• Ensure policies for the control, administration and custody of drugs and medicines are adhered to.
• Liaise with health care professionals regarding discharge to ensure continuity of care.
• Ensure all admissions are carried out correctly with appropriate documentation.
