Job summary

CORLANN in Boyle is hiring a Staff Nurse or Enhanced Nurse for Curlew Adult Services (Boyle & Frenchpark). The appointee may work in residential, respite, day settings or in community services and will start in a designated area with future service needs.

The post requires a nursing qualification and full driving licence, and invites commitment to person-centred planning, team collaboration and ongoing training to support individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Qualifications

• Current Live Register Certificate from NMBI, RNID or RGN.
• Full clean manual driving licence; Class D1 may be required.
• Experience with intellectual disability is desirable and training will be provided.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Work across Curlew services in Boyle & Frenchpark, with possible rotation.
• Participate in person-centred planning, reviews and team meetings.

CORLANN –WEST REGION

POST: PERMANENT FULL-TIME STAFF NURSE/*ENHANCED NURSE

CURLEW ADULT SERVICES (Boyle & Frenchpark areas)

Curlew Adult Services (Boyle & Frenchpark Areas). Staff allocation could be either within residential/respite/day settings or in community services or in an individual’s own home. The appointee will initially commence working in one particular area of the Curlew Services and this work location may change due to future service needs.

Qualifications:

• A current Live Register Certificate from the NMBI (An Bord Altranais), RNID or RGN qualification is essential.


• A full clean manual Driving Licence, which qualifies you to drive manual transmission vehicles on Irish Roads is an essential requirement. It may also be necessary for the appointee to obtain a Class D1 Driving Licence (if not already in possession of one). Assistance will be given towards this purpose of obtaining a class D1 licence.

Experience: Experience and an appreciation of the responsibilities of the post and issues affecting the everyday lives of individuals with an Intellectual Disability is desirable. Full training will be provided.

Working Hours:

1 X Permanent Full-Time 75 hours a fortnight

All posts are based on a 14-day duty roster. The successful candidate will be required to work days, evenings, weekends, public holidays and night duty to meet service needs.

The Corlann model of service is based on Personal Outcome Measures requiring employees to be flexible in their working hours to provide a quality service delivery for each individual.

Annual Leave:

24 days pro rata per annum (pro-rata for part-time). Appropriate service related leave will be granted after 5 and 10 years’ service respectively.

Remuneration:

Department of Health salary scales as at 01/06/2026 apply:

Staff Nurse – €38,166 x 12 increments - €54,956 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). Long Service Increment €56,592 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) is granted after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.

• Enhanced Nurse – € 45,259 x 7 increments - €56,762 per annum (pro-rata for part-time). Long Service Increment €58,424 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) is granted after 3 years on the maximum of the scale.


• As per HSE HR Circular 022/2019 – Nursing and Midwifery - the Enhanced Nurse / Midwife Practice Contract https://www.hse.ie/eng/staff/resources/hr-circulars/hr-circular-022-2019-re-enhanced-nurse-midwife-contract.pdf; once a staff nurse reaches point 4 on the Staff Nurse salary scale, they become eligible to apply for the role of Enhanced Nurse. Any Staff Nurse who wishes to avail of the Enhanced Nurse role will have to submit an application and also meet the qualifying criteria.

Salary quoted is based on a 37.5 hour working week. The successful candidate will be granted incremental credit subject to satisfactory verification of previous relevant nursing service.

Additional payments will be made for weekends, public holidays, and night duty when worked. A location allowance of €2,637 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) will also be paid when assigned to services where 75% of the persons supported have a diagnosis of severe/profound intellectual disability.

A panel may be formed as a result of this process from which subsequent Staff Nurse / Enhanced Nurse appointments within the Curlew Service location may be offered over the next 6 to 12 months.
