Job summary

Rathborne Nursing Home is seeking a Registered General Nurse to care for our elderly residents at Rathborne Nursing Home, Ashtown, Dublin 15. Work Permit Transfers can be facilitated.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Responsibilities

  • Care for elderly residents and support their wellbeing.
  • Assess residents' health needs and liaise with GP as required.
  • Maintain and review care plans in consultation with residents, families and professionals.
  • Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and monthly or more frequent reviews of care plans.
  • Provide clear handover reports at end of shifts.
  • Comply with NMBI guidelines and company policies.

Rathborne Nursing Home

is part of Trinity Care Group, a well-respected, multi-award-winning Nursing Home Group and part of the international DomusVi Group.


We are currently looking to recruit a Registered General Nurse to care for our elderly residents at Rathborne Nursing Home, Ashtown, Dublin 15.


Work Permit Transfers can be facilitated.


Required:


  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

  • Genuine interest in working with the relevant client group.

  • Current registration with NMBI (Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland).

  • Team player.

  • Registered General Nurse.


Desirable:


  • Experience and/or qualifications in caring for the relevant client group.

  • Knowledge of HIQA Standards.

  • Previous supervisory experience.


Care


  • Ensure all staff members contribute to the efficient running of the Nursing Home and help create an environment that promotes the wellbeing of residents.

  • Report any ill health among residents and arrange GP or other healthcare professional visits where necessary.

  • Ensure residents' care plans are completed, maintained, and reviewed in consultation with residents, families, and healthcare professionals, in accordance with NMBI guidelines and company policy.

  • Assess residents' care needs and provide direct nursing care when required.

  • Complete ongoing assessments and regular reviews of residents' health and social care needs.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and review individual care plans at least monthly or more frequently if required.

  • Carry out regular resident checks and provide clear handover reports at the end of each shift.

  • Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate medication records in accordance with company policy and NMBI guidelines.

  • Maintain the highest standards of integrity when dealing with residents' personal and financial affairs.


Health & Safety


  • Report immediately to the Director of Nursing (DON) or Person in Charge any infectious illness, accident, or incident involving a resident, colleague, or yourself.

  • Ensure compliance with the Nursing Home's Health & Safety, Emergency, and Fire Safety policies.

  • Report faulty equipment, damaged furniture, or potential hazards promptly.

  • Promote safe working practices throughout the Nursing Home.


General


  • Adhere to all relevant NMBI guidelines and professional regulations.

  • Maintain all required documentation and records in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.

  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times.

  • Notify the DON or Person in Charge as soon as possible if you are unable to attend work, in line with the Employee Handbook.

  • Ensure the security of the Nursing Home is maintained.

  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

  • Ensure all equipment is clean, safe, and well maintained.

  • Undertake any other duties reasonably assigned by management.
