Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Staff Registered Nurse role based in Duleek Care Centre. The Staff Registered Nurse will deliver safe, evidence-based nursing care to residents, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual care plans. Daily responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring vital signs, managing clinical documentation, and responding promptly to changes in residents’ health. The nurse will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues, support healthcare assistants, and communicate with residents and their families to promote comfort, dignity, and wellbeing. The role also involves participation in quality and safety initiatives, adherence to regulatory standards, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Current registration (in good standing) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and eligibility to work as a Registered Nurse in Ireland.
• Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills, including monitoring vital signs, managing medications, and providing dementia, palliative, and gerontological care.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with residents, families, and multidisciplinary team members in a respectful, person-centered manner.
• Ability to maintain accurate clinical documentation, follow policies and procedures, and ensure compliance with relevant healthcare and regulatory standards.
• Demonstrated teamwork, reliability, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize care in a busy nursing home environment.
• Commitment to resident safety, infection prevention and control, and continuous improvement in care quality.
• Experience in residential or long-term care settings is an advantage; prior work with older persons or dementia care is highly beneficial.
• Relevant nursing degree or diploma and willingness to participate in ongoing training and professional development.
