Cadence Design Systems, Inc. in Ireland is seeking a Staff Network Engineer to design, deploy and operate our global enterprise network across data centres, campuses and WAN.

You will lead high-impact initiatives with strong operational discipline and partner across IT and Security to ensure secure, highly available connectivity. The role demands hands-on expertise with routing and switching, SD-WAN, and cross-domain collaboration, delivering solutions ready for Day 2 operations and a robust

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of enterprise network architecture, design, deployment and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Cisco certification required (CCNP preferred; CCIE a strong plus).
• Hands-on experience across data centre, campus, WAN and hybrid cloud networks.
• Expert knowledge of routing and switching (BGP/OSPF/VXLAN) and high-availability design.
• Strong network security basics and collaboration with Security teams.
• Experience with NAC/AAA solutions such as Cisco ISE or Aruba ClearPass.
• Proven ability to lead troubleshooting, incident response, and lifecycle management.
• Ability to produce operational designs with monitoring and runbooks.
• Excellent communication to present executive-ready options.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver scalable data centre and campus network solutions.
• Support WAN operations including internet edge and SD-WAN integrations.
• Lead complex troubleshooting and root-cause analysis; implement preventive changes.
• Partner with Data Centre, Storage, Virtualisation, Windows/Unix, Cloud Ops, Security.
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards and runbooks.
• Operationalise solutions for Day 2 operations: monitoring, capacity planning, lifecycle management.
• Communicate status and risks; manage deliverables, timelines and dependencies.
