Job summary

The Coombe Hospital in Dublin is inviting applications for a Senior Midwife post within a multidisciplinary team, delivering safe, evidence-based midwifery services to women, babies and families.

You will contribute to high-quality maternity care across local, regional and national levels, uphold BFHI and clinical governance standards, and work in a teaching hospital environment with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife (RM) on the active register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• Knowledge of Maternity Strategy, BFHI, health and safety regulations, national strategies and Health Promotion for Childbearing Mother & Family.
• Clinical governance, risk management, research understanding and ability to conduct clinical audits.
• Understanding of models of maternity care and involvement with Nursing & Midwifery Board regulatory function and publications.

Responsibilities

• Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide a safe, effective, high quality midwifery service to women, babies and their families.
• Deliver care in a teaching hospital environment and contribute to continuous service improvement and governance.
• Engage with education programmes and contribute to quality assurance within maternity care.
