Job summary

Overstory is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to design and scale our geospatial data platform powering AI vegetation analysis. You will own the architecture, guide data ingestion, transformation, and delivery, and ensure reliability, traceability, and performance at scale.

You will mentor engineers across Data, ML, and Product teams, establish standards for pipelines, services, and data quality, and drive a shift toward service-oriented architectures while promoting observability and robust

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering and production pipelines.
• Experience with large-scale geospatial and temporal data processing.
• Strong Python and Google Cloud platform skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect and evolve the orchestration layer for scalable pipelines.
• Design production data pipelines from ingestion to delivery.
• Lead system design across the data platform and define service boundaries.
