Job summary

McKesson is seeking a Sr. Solution Architect Portals & Websites to lead the architecture and evolution of enterprise customer-facing digital platforms, including portals, websites, commerce solutions, self-service experiences, and digital engagement technologies.

You will partner with product, engineering, UX, security, and business stakeholders to define scalable, cloud-native solutions delivering exceptional customer experiences and measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Solution Architecture or related roles.
• Experience architecting enterprise-scale web, portals, or digital platforms.
• Proficient with modern full-stack tech incl. React, Angular, TypeScript, Java, .NET, Node.js.
• Experience designing API-first, microservices, event-driven architectures.
• Experience integrating CRM/ERP/content management/order systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture strategy and target-state design for enterprise portals and self-service platforms.
• Define solution patterns, reference architectures, standards, and roadmaps aligned to business goals.
• Design scalable full-stack solutions using React, Angular, TypeScript, Java, .NET, Node.js, APIs and microservices.

About the Role McKesson is seeking a Sr. Solution Architect Portals & Websites to lead the architecture and evolution of enterprise customer-facing digital platforms, including portals, websites, commerce solutions, self-service experiences, and digital engagement technologies. This role partners with product, engineering, UX, security, and business stakeholders to define scalable, cloud-native solutions that deliver exceptional customer experiences and measurable business outcomes. You will provide architectural leadership across full-stack digital platforms, API ecosystems, commerce capabilities, customer identity, integrations, AI-enabled experiences, and cloud-native services while establishing standards, governance, and reusable architecture patterns across the organization.

What You'll Do

• Lead architecture strategy and target-state design for enterprise portals, websites, customer self-service platforms, and digital experience solutions.
• Define solution patterns, reference architectures, technical standards, and architecture roadmaps aligned to business capabilities and customer journeys.
• Design scalable full-stack solutions leveraging React, Angular, TypeScript, Java, .NET, Node.js, Spring Boot, APIs, and microservices.
• Architect integrations across Salesforce, CRM, ERP, commerce, customer data, content management, and order management platforms.
• Drive API-first, composable, and event-driven architecture strategies supporting enterprise digital ecosystems.
• Lead cloud-native architecture decisions across Azure and AWS, ensuring scalability, resiliency, security, observability, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Partner with engineering teams to implement DevSecOps, CI/CD, performance optimization, CDN, caching, monitoring, and self-healing operational capabilities.
• Mentor architects and engineers, lead architecture governance reviews, influence technical decisions, and drive adoption of enterprise standards.

Basic Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Solution Architecture, Digital Architecture, Software Engineering, or Enterprise Architecture roles.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• Experience architecting enterprise-scale customer-facing web, portal, commerce, or digital experience platforms.
• Demonstrated experience with modern full-stack technologies including React, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, .NET, Node.js, or similar frameworks.
• Experience designing API‑first, microservices‑based, and event‑driven architectures.
• Experience integrating enterprise platforms such as CRM, ERP, customer data, commerce, content management, or order management solutions.
• Experience leading technical design reviews, architecture governance, and cross‑functional solution delivery.
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS cloud‑native architecture and secure software design practices.

Preferred Skills / Experience

• Commerce platform, customer engagement, or contact center technology experience.
• Salesforce ecosystem, Digital Experience Platform (DXP), CMS, search, personalization, and analytics expertise.
• Knowledge of SSO, OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, customer identity, and access management solutions.
• Experience with DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and observability engineering.
• Experience with AI‑enabled digital experiences, conversational AI, digital agents, and intelligent automation solutions.
• Knowledge of customer data platforms, preference management, personalization, and customer intelligence integrations.
• Familiarity with TOGAF, C4 architecture modeling, enterprise architecture governance, and architecture frameworks.
• Experience mentoring architects and engineering teams across large‑scale enterprise environments.
