ServiceNow in Ireland is seeking a software engineer for the Impact team. You will leverage AI capabilities to build scalable, reusable software, with a focus on JavaScript and languages like Java or Python.

You will design AI‑driven features, contribute to architecture decisions, and ensure quality through automated testing and CI/CD. You’ll work with a cross‑functional team to create extensible UI components and deliver measurable business impact, while mentoring peers and improving production

Qualifications

Experience leveraging AI to improve workflows, decision‑making, or product functionality, including AI APIs integration or automation.
4+ years of enterprise‑level software engineering experience, with JavaScript as a core language and foundations in Java or Python.
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, OOD, design patterns and performance optimization.
Familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines, and a commitment to reliability and quality.
Analytical mindset for designing impactful AI solutions to solve complex problems.
Experience with development tools (IDEs, debuggers, profilers, source control) and Unix‑based systems.

Responsibilities

Leverage ServiceNow AI capabilities to build scalable, reusable software that delivers measurable impact.
Apply prompt engineering and scalable architectures to support AI‑powered solutions across the organisation.
Collaborate with product owners to translate needs into intelligent features, from design to delivery, with automated testing.
Develop extensible UI components to support customer needs (LitJs, DaisyUI, TailwindCSS).
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD workflows to ensure high‑quality releases.
Participate in code reviews and design discussions, promoting best practices in performance and maintainability.
Enhance AI‑enabled products, improving reliability, observability, and production readiness.
Troubleshoot stack performance for scalability and responsiveness.
Mentor colleagues on software craftsmanship and responsible AI integration.

To be successful in this role you have:

Experience leveraging AI to improve workflows, decision-making, or product functionality - including integrating AI APIs, automating processes, or analyzing AI-driven insights.
Day-to-day work involves JavaScript, but strong foundations in languages like Java or Python are equally valued. Must have 4+ years of enterprise-level software engineering experience.
Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance optimization.
Familiarity with automated testing and CI/CD pipelines, and a commitment to engineering excellence and reliability.
Analytical mindset with the ability to design impactful AI solutions that solve complex problems.
Experience with development tools such as IDEs, debuggers, profilers, source control, and Unix-based systems.
