Qualifications

• An instinctive drive to connect with audiences, especially younger viewers.
• encyclopaedic knowledge of sport across GAA, soccer and rugby.
• Strong storytelling sensibility and ability to identify compelling guests or topics.
• Experience using images, video, audio and text to maximise impact on platforms.
• Familiarity with podcast formats and trends in digital audio.
• Willingness to learn new technologies as they emerge.
• Ability to work constructively in a fast-moving production environment.
• Experience in both video and audio is advantageous; understanding AI implications.

Responsibilities

• Perform a central role in building the sports podcast and define its identity.
• Create agenda-setting digital audio for RTÉ's new podcast app and platforms.
• Produce compelling video content for social platforms like TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
• Potentially appear on the podcast and write articles for RTÉ’s online platforms.
• Book guests and write briefs for the podcast.
• Collaborate with RTÉ colleagues across production and promotion.
• Work with digital platforms to boost visibility of RTÉ podcasts.
