Job summary

RTÉ seeks a Multimedia Journalist to lead a new daily sports podcast within RTÉ Podcasts. The role will involve creating audio for the RTÉ audio app, producing video content for social platforms, and possibly appearing on the show and writing articles for RTÉ Online.

The appointment is on a fixed-term full-time contract for two years. Salary scales range from €48,525 to €75,933 gross per annum.

Qualifications

• An instinctive drive to connect with audiences, especially younger audiences.
• Extensive knowledge of sport (GAA, soccer, rugby) and compelling storytelling.
• Ability to use images, video, audio and text across social media platforms.
• Experience with video and audio; awareness of AI in media.

Responsibilities

• Build the sports podcast and shape its identity as it grows.
• Initiate and create agenda-setting digital audio for the RTÉ audio app and other platforms.
• Create compelling video content for TikTok, Instagram and YouTube.
• Potentially appear on the podcast and write articles for RTÉ’s online platforms.
• Book guests and write briefs for the podcast.
• Collaborate with RTÉ teams to produce and promote podcasts.
• Work with digital platforms to increase visibility and promotion of RTÉ podcasts.
