Speech Language Therapist - Acquired Brain Injury

Speech and Language Therapist – Acquired Brain Injury service, North Dublin. We will consider applications for both basic grade and senior grade positions. This is a permanent position with a dedicated Acquired Brain Injury service based in North County Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to support clients living with the impact of acquired brain injury by improving and augmenting speech, language, communication and swallowing skills, in order to enhance the overall quality of life for clients and their families.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide person-centred, goal orientated care and rehabilitation with the objective of optimising quality of life.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of treatment/intervention programmes for service users according to professional standards and client needs
  • Communicate results of assessments and recommendations to the service user and relevant others as appropriate
  • Collaborate with service user, family, carers and other staff in goal setting and treatment/intervention planning
  • Provide support and information in relation to communication and/or feeding, eating, drinking and swallowing disorders to service users and relevant others
  • Participate in teams; communicating and working in collaboration with the service user and relevant others as part of an integrated package of care
  • Represent the department/profession/team at meetings and conferences as designated

Qualifications and experience:

  • A recognised qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist with CORU registration
  • Ideally 2 years of post-qualification experience working with adults with neurological conditions or similar caseload
  • A minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience is required to be considered for a senior role
  • Permission to work in Ireland
