Fota Island Resort are currently recruiting for a Resort Sous Chef to work across the kitchens within the resort.

What we are looking for:

  • Must have demonstrated superior management skills in previous responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education/experience desired.
  • Previous experience in a senior chef related position.
  • HACCP certification and knowledge of safe food handling practices
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Ability to apply supervisory /management soft skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Previous experience in a similar background and role
  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of the kitchens
  • Assist with planning and executing banquet and wedding functions
  • Assist with menu development and execution
  • To support effectively and positively any operational changes
  • Ensure all HACCP regulations are adhered to
  • Assist with training and onboarding of new and junior chefs
  • Assist with stock takes as required
  • Certification from a recognised body is preferred
  • Basic Computers and Fluent English
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Flexibility to work with other disciplines within the Kitchen
