Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of ultrasound examinations across abdominal, gynecological, vascular and small parts applications.
  • Provide analysis and interpretation of ultrasound images.
  • Ensure good patient care and maintain patient dignity.
  • Manage busy day lists with outpatient, inpatient and emergency department referrals.
  • Vet and protocol ultrasound referrals.
  • Communicate effectively with staff and colleagues.

We are seeking an experienced sonographer to join our team in the Mater Private Cork.

Qualifications: CORU registered radiographer with an approved post graduate qualification in ultrasound. CASE accredited post graduate ultrasound program preferred. Experience as a sonographer in an Irish or UK setting preferred.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing a range of ultrasound examinations across abdominal, gynecological, vascular and small parts applications, depending on experience
  • Analysis and interpretation of ultrasound images and provide a provisional report to the radiologist
  • Providing good patient care and maintain patient dignity at all times
  • Managing busy day lists with a mix of outpatient, inpatient and emergency department referrals
  • Vetting and protocolling of ultrasound referrals
  • Communicating effectively with admin staff, radiologists, hospital staff and colleagues
