Job summary

daa is seeking a Solution Architect to design cloud and hybrid architectures in Microsoft Azure, spanning Networks, Infrastructure, Storage, Integrations, Web and Mobile platforms. You will collaborate with daa Labs and business teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions aligned to architecture principles.

The role requires 5–7 years in architecture with Azure focus, TOGAF or Zachman certifications, and a proven track record in leading technical direction.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in an Architecture role, with at least 3 in an Azure cloud–focused environment.
• TOGAF, Zachman, or other relevant architecture certifications.
• Proven track record of defining solution designs and managing technical direction in teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure and resilient architectures for cloud and on-premise applications.
• Leverage Azure services to build scalable and resilient systems.
• Work with Cloud Engineering, Data & Analytics, and development teams to define cloud solutions.
• Develop and adhere to architecture principles, standards and templates across the solution architecture process.
• Create clear, well-structured documentation of system components, interfaces and data flows.
• Evaluate and adopt innovative technologies to enhance capability and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to translate needs into technical designs.
• Regularly review existing architectures to identify improvements and risks.
• Manage the Solution Architecture process and re-usable reference architectures.
• Ensure deviations from strategy are identified, actioned and communicated.

As part of our ambitious plan, we are seeking a skilled Solution Architect to work within our Architecture team. In the role you will be responsible for designing cloud/hybrid solution architectures and legacy migration approaches based on Microsoft Azure. The focus of the role will also spread across multiple IT disciplines including Networks, Infrastructure and Platforms, Storage, Integrations, Web and Mobile Platform, Business & Data applications. You will work with cross functional teams in daa Labs and the wider business to deliver innovative, fit for purpose technology solutions. The solution architect ensures all solution designs follow our architecture principles and technology standards, supporting long-term goals and adapting to evolving business needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure and resilient architectures for cloud and on-premise applications, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Leverage Azure services (Azure functions, Containers, Azure App Service, Azure SQL etc) to build scalable and resilient systems.
• Work closely with Cloud Engineering, Data & Analytics, Business Applications and development teams to define cloud solutions in line with business need, architecture standards and principles and IT Security policy.
• Develop, manage and adhere to the architecture principles, standards and templates and drive alignment to these through the solution architecture process.
• Develop clear well-structured documentation that clearly define system components, interfaces and data flows.
• Evaluate and recommend innovative and emerging technologies and tools that can enhance business capability, productivity and competitiveness.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with IT and business stakeholders to better understand the need and ensure its being met through technical solution designs and specifications.
• Conduct regular review and assessment of existing architectures to identify areas of improvement or identify risk.
• Manage and continuously improve the Solution Architecture process and artefacts to develop a set of re-usable reference architectures and ensure these are leveraged wherever possible.
• Ensure any deviation from technology strategy, principles & standards are properly identified, actioned, and communicated.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in an Architecture role, with at least 3 in an Azure cloud focused environment.
• TOGAF, Zachman, or other relevant architecture certifications.
• Proven track record of defining solution designs and managing technical direction in teams.

• Deep knowledge of Azure Cloud Iaas and PaaS Services and how they can be leveraged to deliver best in class solutions.
• Broad knowledge of the following key areas: Application Integration, Data Platforms, Infrastructure, Networks.
• Experience working across diverse business and customer systems, technologies and processing environments with a high level of integration in a hybrid cloud setting.
• Demonstrated experience in bringing all these respective technologies into a cohesive, effective solution design.
• Architectural thinker who can demonstrate an understanding of architecture and technology strategy and the importance of aligning to same.
• Understand and advocate the benefits of an architecture focused approach to IT and willing to “sell” the architecture process, its outcome and ongoing results within daa Labs and to the business customer.
