Software Test Engineer (Manual) – Limerick Hybrid

Due to continued success, my client is looking for a Software Test Engineer with experience in Manual Testing to join the team. The role will be heavily manual exposure to automation increasing as you progress.

The Role:

  • Collaborate with development and product teams to understand product functionality and requirements.
  • Develop, document, and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and functional specifications.
  • Perform manual functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing on web, mobile, and desktop applications.
  • Identify, document, and track bugs, defects, and issues through the defect tracking system.
  • Validate fixes and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with the development team.
  • Perform acceptance testing of new features and applications, ensuring they meet high-quality standards.
  • Provide clear and detailed feedback on product quality to ensure continuous improvements.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and product design meetings.
  • Continuously improve testing processes, standards, and documentation to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-4+ years of experience in manual software testing or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA methodologies.
  • Experience with test management tools such as TestRail, Zephyr, or similar.
  • Familiarity with bug tracking tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test cases and bug reports.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Basic understanding of web and mobile technologies, databases, and APIs.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment.
