Job summary

Arm Galway invites applications for a Machine Learning Internship. You will join a Machine Learning team and work on real projects that follow modern agile principles, contributing to codebases and gaining expert-level experience in ML on Arm devices.

The role is based in Galway, Ireland, with hybrid working arrangements and a competitive salary of €34,000. Enrolment in a higher education degree and returning to your course after placement are required.

Qualifications

• Working towards a university degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a related field, or
• Hands-on experience in a software engineering environment.
• An understanding of computer architecture and how software and hardware interact.
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming using languages such as C++ or Python.
• Ability to express ideas and communicate effectively.
• Comfortable working in Linux.
• Basic knowledge of scripting languages, e.g. Bash, Python, or Groovy.
• Experience of building software outside of the classroom – personal projects, hackathons.
• Familiarity with the concepts of neural networks (Machine Learning).
• Contributions to open-source projects.
• Exposure to git

Galway is a vibrant city – the cultural heart of Ireland. This exceptional design centre has been delivering innovative software to deploy Arm IP and enable Machine Learning on Arm devices for many years.

What you could be doing as a Machine Learning Intern?

As an intern you will work in one of our Machine Learning teams. You will need to be creative, innovative and enthusiastic about new technologies. Our engineers build software; enabling world-class performance and low power designs. Interns immediately start working on real project tasks that follow modern agile principles. Through teamwork, mentorship and dedication to personal development, our goal is that everyone starts contributing to the codebase and ultimately develops into an expert in the field. You will be working in a global, multi-cultural organisation, offering successful candidates the opportunity to be exposed to a wide range of software and hardware engineering fields.

We Are Looking For Individuals Who

Additional Information

We offer 3, 6 and 8 month placement opportunities. Our 6 and 8 month placements will begin in January 2027, while our 3-month placements will begin in June 2027. Arm Internships require you to be enrolled in a higher education degree and be returning to your course after your internship/placement. Please note we are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must have the right to work in the country where the internship is based, without relying on sponsorship by Arm, for the full duration of the internship.
