Job summary

nineDots.io in Ireland is seeking a hands-on engineer to tackle performance challenges across large software systems. You will profile applications, identify bottlenecks, and implement memory- and compute-efficient improvements that scale with data and workloads.

You will work with Python and C++, explore parallelism and distributed computing, and contribute to AI workloads in production. A strong problem-solving mindset and curiosity about underlying code are essential.

What we're looking for

• Strong programming experience with Python, C++ or similar languages.
• A solid understanding of software performance, memory management and computational efficiency.
• Experience with performance profiling, debugging or optimisation.
• Comfortable working with complex systems and digging into unfamiliar code.
• An understanding of parallel processing, concurrency or distributed computing.
• Someone who enjoys hands-on engineering and solving problems rather than simply working at the application layer.

Some of the technology involved

The environment includes Python, C++, Linux and GPU-accelerated computing, alongside modern AI and machine learning technologies.

Experience with CUDA, PyTorch or other high-performance computing tools would be useful, although we're equally interested in engineers with strong systems programming backgrounds who want to move further into this space.
