Job summary

Rent the Runway in Galway, Ireland is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for our eCommerce Platform team to build and operate cloud-scale microservices behind checkout and orders, and to support the CX application used by our team. You will work across full stack from UI to backend services and APIs.

You’ll collaborate with payments, fraud, and tax providers, improve system reliability and observability, and mentor teammates in a cross-functional, fast‑moving environment with AI-assisted

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4+ years of practical software engineering experience.
• Experience with cloud-scale microservices and modern web apps.
• Proficient in backend services and APIs design.
• Strong communication and collaborative mindset.
• Ability to mentor teammates and own features end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve the CX internal app with ReactJS interfaces.
• Own features end-to-end from UI to Java/Kotlin services and APIs.
• Develop integrations with payments, fraud, and tax providers.
• Improve reliability, scalability, and observability of flows.
• Collaborate with partners to deliver scalable software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor teammates in a cross-functional team.
