Job summary

Analog Devices, Inc. in Cork, Ireland, seeks a Senior Engineer, Embedded Software for the Datacenters & Energy division. You will design and deliver high-performance real-time embedded software on ARM Cortex-M platforms, contributing to resilient power management solutions for datacenters.

Qualifications

  • At least 5+ years in embedded software engineering for high-performance systems.
  • Strong C/C++ skills with real-time optimisation and debugging experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop high performance real-time embedded applications on ARM Cortex-M devices.
  • Contribute to code reviews and implement software quality guidelines.
  • Develop unit and integration test plans and tooling.
  • Collaborate with distributed Silicon Designers and QA teams to resolve issues.
  • Provide support during Beta trials and post-release.

This is an opportunity to join a new and fast-growing team developing products to make Datacenters more power efficient and resilient.About the RoleAs Senior Engineer, Embedded Software , you will contribute to the development of embedded software for Analog Devices' Datacenters & Energy business unit. You'll have a senior role in the development of cutting-edge embedded systems that drive next-generation intelligent power management for Datacenters, meeting the highest standards for security, reliability, and real time performance.You will be part of a fast growing, world-class engineering team working to deliver software solutions that improve datacentre resilience and advance power management innovation. You will be a strong team player with excellent communications and technical skills.What You'll DoDesign and develop high performance real-time embedded applications on ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers in C programming language.Create all necessary documentation to support the embedded firmware design and communicate the essential concepts inside and outside the development team.Participate in code reviews, software standard and guidelines improvement.Develop and execute software unit and integration test plans.Develop and review tools used for testing and interfacing with the product.Analyse test results to ensure correct functionality and implement corrective action.Interact daily with geographically distributed Silicon Designers, Embedded Software Engineers, Applications Engineers, QA Engineers and other team members to develop software, resolve bugs, identify missing requirements etc.Provide customer support during Beta trials and post release.Develop customer facing documentation and training material as required.Comply with ADI licensing practices, code origin control and documentation.Mentor junior team members.What You BringBachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field5+ years architecting, developing and launching high performance, high resilience real time embedded systems5+ years managing globally distributed engineering teamsProven track record building and scaling embedded engineering organizationsTechnical ExpertiseStrong C/C++ development and debug skills.Strong knowledge of ARM Cortex and RiscV architectures.Experience in real time embedded systems, both bare metal and RTOS.Knowledge of best practices in software QA.Knowledge of Digital Signal Processing techniques.Experience working with agile methodologies.Excellent written and verbal communications skills.Additional Information· Travel: Up to 10%.· Location: Cork, Ireland.· Reports to: Manager, Datacentre & Energy Software.For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
