Job summary

Scorebuddy is seeking an experienced Software Engineer for a fixed-term maternity cover of nine months in Dublin. The role is in the Customer Engineering squad, collaborating with customer success, product, and engineering to ship fixes and small features.

You’ll work across PHP, Python, VueJS and databases on AWS with CI/CD on Jenkins and GitHub Actions, addressing issues holistically to improve customer experience.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience in a product environment.
• Strong commercial experience with PHP, ideally Slim framework.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and MongoDB.
• Experience with Python, ideally Flask, and AWS.
• CI/CD tooling experience (Jenkins or GitHub Actions).

Responsibilities

• Handle bug reports and feature requests from customers and internal teams.
• Communicate progress and outcomes to stakeholders throughout a ticket lifecycle.
• Analyze trends to identify problem areas and feed findings into the roadmap.
• Support the squad and wider engineering team on ongoing projects.
• Work across the stack from VueJS front-ends to PHP and Python, including DB work.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and AWS-hosted infrastructure as needed.
