Job summary

The Door Talent is recruiting a Social Care Worker for a growing, family-founded service supporting young adults aged 18–23 with severe to profound intellectual disabilities. The role combines individual support with educational activities and structured routines in a centre-based programme.

This permanent, full-time position offers a 39-hour week (Mon–Fri, about 8:30 am–4:30 pm) at Newtownmountkennedy, Wicklow.

Qualifications

• A Social Care Worker qualification and CORU registration.
• Around 2–3 years' experience in social care or a related setting.
• A full driving licence.
• Strong spoken and written English.
• A proactive, creative approach and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one or two-to-one support; staff do not work alone.
• Lead and support educational activities and in-house programmes. Around 80% of activities take place at the centre.
• Help young adults participate, develop skills and engage with their daily routines.
• Work closely with colleagues to provide consistent, person-centred support.
• Share ideas and take part in supervision and professional development.
