Job summary

Health Service Executive in Naas, Co. Kildare, seeks a Social Care Worker to support people with complex needs in a person-centred approach. You will work under PCPs and care plans, ensuring rights and needs of individuals with autism are respected. A full QQI Level 7 in Social Care (or degree) and CORU registration or progress is required.

The role requires a full manual driving licence and the ability to work on your own initiative within a dedicated team. Closing date 05/11/2026.

Qualifications

• Full QQI Level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential.
• CORU registration or proof of application in progress.
• Knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector.
• Understanding of needs and rights of individuals with autism.
• Ability to work on own initiative and deliver care plans according to PCPs.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to people with complex needs according to PCP and care plan.
• Deliver care according to the person’s PCP and care plan.
• Develop and implement PCPs and care plans.
• Possess and demonstrate excellent communication skills and advocacy for individuals with autism.
• Drive service vehicles if required with a full manual licence.

Qualification required: A full QQI level 7 Award in Social Care or Applied Social Care/Studies/Practice at degree level is essential, (or relevant schedule 3 qualification as listed on CORUs website) with at least 6 months recent experience working as a Social Care Worker supporting people with complex needs. Proof of successful registration with CORU as a Social Care Worker OR proof of application in progress with CORU. Skills/Abilities required of a Social Care Worker: Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector. Understanding of the needs and rights of individuals with autism. Proven ability to work on own initiative. Proven experience in the implementation and development of support/care plans and PCP’s. Places the needs of the person supported as the key focus in all activities. Delivers support according to the person’s PCP and care plan. Fluent English and excellent communication skills. Full, clean drivers licence (manual) essential with requirement to drive service vehicles.
