SOCIAL CARE WORKER

We are recruiting for Social Care Workers to join us in our Kildare Residential Services.

The successful candidates will be provided with the opportunity to support individuals with independent living skills, community inclusion and the promotion of their personal health and wellbeing. Our wide variety of services provide full time residential support to individuals with physical and/or intellectual disabilities/autism in both individualized and group settings.

Successful candidates would join the relief panel to support the daily running of community houses for adults with a intellectual disability. The duties will include assisting people with activities of daily living and engaging in their community. The candidate will be required to work various shift pattern which can include sleepover shifts, days, nights and weekends. This position might suit candidates who are seeking a varied roster to work around their own commitments.

The shift patterns can include day/evening/overnight (sleepovers and waking night duty)/weekends/holidays.

Requirements:

  • Relevant recognised Diploma in Social Care / Applied Social Studies in Social Care/Disability/social Care Practice (Level 7 on National Framework of Qualifications) which are CORU approved. Please note Social Care candidates must be registered with or in the process of registering with CORU.
  • A valid driving licence to drive a manual vehicle in Ireland.
  • Knowledge of HIQA Standards.
  • Good connections in the local community an advantage.
  • A willingness to work alone and be available for day, weekend and ‘sleep-over’ shifts.
  • Experience of supporting adults with intellectual disabilities and/or autism is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organisational, logistical and I.T skills.
  • Ability to use own initiative and plan effectively.
  • Suitability as outlined in the introduction to the role
