Sunbeam House Services in Greystones, Co. Wicklow, is seeking a Social Care Worker to support four adults with intellectual disabilities in a residential setting. The role involves delivering person-centered supports, developing skills and helping individuals participate in community activities.

The position offers permanent hours with a variety of shifts, including days, sleepovers and weekends. Candidates should hold QQI Level 7 in Social Care, CORU registration and a strong commitment to

Competenze

• QQI Level 7 in Social Care or Foreign Equivalent (validated by QQI).
• Registered with the CORU Social Care Workers Registration Board.
• Hold a CORU-Approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU Registration (evidence).
• Eligible for registration with CORU (evidence).
• Passion for promoting and empowering those you support.
• Team player; able to lone work as well as part of a team.
• Knowledge of HIQA regulations and standards.
• Excellent organisation and communication skills.
• Enthusiasm, energy and creativity.
• Excellent IT and report writing skills.
• Hold a full driving licence and be willing to drive location vehicles.
• Discretion with confidential information.
• Flexible to rostered shifts over seven days.
• Understanding and experience of therapeutic interventions.
• 1+ year post-qualification experience with adults with intellectual disabilities.
• Experience of working alone and in teams.
• Experience with complex behaviours and CPI.
• Experience in alternative communications.
• Experience in creative problem-solving.

Description

Location: Tus Nua, Greystones

Contract: Permanent

This residential service is based in the seaside town of Greystones, Co. Wicklow, supporting four adults with intellectual disabilities to live meaningful and active lives. The individuals supported enjoy being part of their local community and engaging in activities such as listening to music, baking, spending time in nature, attending concerts, socialising with friends, and taking part in social clubs.

As a Social Care Worker, you will support individuals to achieve their personal outcomes, develop their skills, and build positive, valued roles both within their home and the wider community. The role involves variable working hours, including day shifts, sleepovers, weekends, and unsociable hours.

Requirements

• Applicant must hold a QQI Level 7 in Social Care or Foreign Equivalent (validated by QQI)
• Registered with the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU
• Hold a CORU-Approved Social Care Worker qualification and have applied for CORU Registration (evidence required)
• Eligible for registration with the Social Care Workers Registration Board maintained by CORU (evidence required)

• Experience of dealing with complex behaviours that challenge and with behavioural supports.
• CPI experience and working with dual diagnosis and complex behaviors.
• Experience in alternative communications
• Experience of creative problem-solving techniques

Salary Scale: Successful candidates will be paid as per the HSE consolidated pay scales in line with required qualifications and relevant experience.
