Job summary

A community care organization in Kildare is seeking Social Care Assistants and Social Care Workers to support individuals with their daily living skills and personal development. Candidates must have a Level 7 qualification in Applied Social Studies or equivalent, along with prior experience in social care. This full-time role involves working up to 40 hours a week, including day and night shifts, within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

Role Details
  • Reporting to: Person in Charge
  • Contract Type: Full-Time
  • Working Week: Average of 40 hours a week, day and waking night shifts required
  • Location of Work: One of our Kildare Centres

Role Responsibilities
  • Facilitate and encourage decision-making, independence, and personal development.
  • Provide support in daily living skills, including personal hygiene, health and appearance.
  • Work in a person-centred manner to meet individual care plans and goals.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures, standards, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Administer and document the dispensation of prescribed medication.
  • Undertake key worker responsibilities, helping service owners achieve goals.
  • Document and report incidents and complaints involving staff, service owners or visitors.
  • Work with MDT to achieve the goals of service owners.
Essential Requirements
  • Social Care Worker: Minimum Level 7 qualification in Applied Social Studies or equivalent.
  • Social Care Worker: Registered (or in process) with the Social Care Workers Registration Board by CORU.
  • Social Care Assistant: QQI Level 5 (8 modules) in Healthcare or equivalent
  • Hold a full Irish driving license
  • Prior experience in social care or healthcare.
  • Working knowledge of HIQA standards and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Garda Vetting/Police Clearance
