Social Care Assistant
Camphill Communities of Ireland are seeking to hire a Social Care Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking for a new challenge.
The post holder will be required to actively ensure that the daily operations of the Service reflect the ethos and vision of Camphill Communities of Ireland (CCoI), and that all co-workers meet the needs of the individuals supported.
The appointed person will work as part of a day and residential support team, working intensively with individuals to discover what constitutes a good life for them and to establish necessary supports. Flexibility is essential as support timing and location will depend on individual plans. The candidate should be proactive team player and contribute positively to team development.
The Social Care Assistant shall be responsible for:
Ensure a person-centred approach, supporting individuals with:
Support self-care, personal hygiene, health, and appearance. Assist with physical needs like moving, handling, fire safety, infection control, and communication. Attend medical appointments, promote healthy diets, and support participation in home and community life. Implement and review person-centred plans, ensure transport competency, and participate in outings.
Responsible for the well-being of individuals, safe equipment use, adhering to policies, maintaining records, reporting concerns, and efficient transport management.
Applicants must hold a QQI Level 5 Major Award or equivalent, have at least 1 year of experience with vulnerable adults or those with intellectual disabilities, understand current social care policies, possess effective communication skills, IT proficiency, and a full driver’s license with own car.
Salary: €30,272 - €37,483 annually (40 hrs/week). Location: Co. Kilkenny. Positions: Full and part-time. Candidates will be contacted if shortlisted. All posts are subject to Garda Vetting and reference checks. Camphill is an equal opportunities employer.
