Job summary

Circet Ireland is hiring qualified Electricians in Dublin and surrounding areas to support smart energy infrastructure for ESB. You will be responsible for safe installation, exchange, testing, commissioning and maintenance of smart electricity meters in homes.

The role requires a Level 6 Advanced Certificate (or equivalent), a clean driving licence and strong customer-facing skills. You will work as part of Circet's Energy division with a focus on safety, quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Qualified Electrician with Level 6 Advanced Certificate or equivalent.
Inspection, Testing and Verification qualification.
Strong understanding of domestic electrical installations.
Knowledge of current Electrical Wiring Regulations.
Full clean driving licence.
Experience using mobile workforce management systems and handheld devices.
Experience in customer-facing field service environments.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally.
Knowledge or experience with communication technologies used in Smart Metering systems (desirable).
Proven ability to work independently and manage daily workloads efficiently.
Demonstrable commitment to Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
Flexible regarding travel and changing operational requirements.

Responsibilities

Carry out safe installation, replacement and commissioning of smart electricity meters in domestic properties.
Undertake pre-installation inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards.
Safely isolate electrical supplies and complete meter exchanges per regulations.
Complete electrical testing and verification activities for meters.
Diagnose and resolve faults related to smart meter installations.
Educate customers on smart metering operation and in-home displays.
Ensure installations comply with ESB Networks, CRU requirements and Safe Electric standards.
Complete electronic job packs and safety documentation on time.
Maintain company vehicles, tools and testing equipment.
Meet daily productivity and quality targets with high customer service and safety.
Escalate technical issues or network faults appropriately.
Participate in training and CPD to stay current with smart metering tech.
