Job summary

FulcrumDigital in Dublin is seeking a Kafka Messaging / SRE Engineer to own and operate high-scale messaging platforms in production, applying SRE principles to improve reliability and performance.

You’ll drive DevOps automation with Ansible and CI/CD pipelines, handle incident management and RCA, and collaborate with platform and application teams to build robust tooling in Java.

Qualifications

• 3-6 years of experience with Kafka / messaging systems.
• Strong understanding of Kafka architecture (brokers, topics, partitions, replication).
• Hands-on experience with SRE / DevOps practices.
• Java development background for debugging and building platform tools.
• Experience with Linux, distributed systems, monitoring and alerting.
• Exposure to incident response, production support, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities
